Children’s Registered Manager – Hampshire – Up to £47K

Here at Hampton’s Resourcing we are delighted to be collaborating with an innovative and well-established Local Authority in the Hampshire area who are on the lookout for a permanent Children’s Registered Manager to oversee their ‘Good’ rated 4 bed EBD home. This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an Ofsted expert with experience in a residential setting to join a strong and dedicated staff team to provide the best possible care for children and young people and ultimately make a positive and long-standing difference to their lives.

Our client prides themselves on their ability to enable young people to develop their independence in a safe and supportive environment. all of their which are near to good transport links, within walking distance of schools and with good access to leisure activities and are purpose built based on feedback from children within their care. Their aim is to provide a standard of care that provides children with the same security, safety and structure of a good family environment, meaning that high quality accommodation is crucial. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the home in accordance with the approach, ethos and outcomes within the home’s ‘Statement of Purpose’
  • Deliver an effective workforce strategy for the home, recruiting, training, developing and managing staff to ensure capacity and provide a competent and efficient workforce
  • Apply professional judgement in responding to and deciding on the appropriateness of placements and referrals, taking into account the impact any placement will have on the existing children
  • Manage and allocate resources, including budgets, staff, equipment and vehicles
  • Consult with and work in partnership with children, their families and associated professionals to progress the aims of the home and the care plans of individual children
  • Identify training & development needs for staff and secure development opportunities for them. Deal with performance, conduct and attendance issues promptly and according to County Council Policies and procedures

Skills and Experience:

  • Hold or obtain qualifications relevant to the model of care operated in the home (e.g. Level 5 Diploma in Residential Child Care as at November 2015)
  • Considerable knowledge and experience relevant to supporting a staff team to understand and meet the development needs of children in residential care
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a managerial role within a children’s residential care setting
  • Ability to promote effective team working in own home and within the wider service

Salary: Up to £50K OTE (£47K + Bonuses)
