Business Analyst – Bury, Greater Manchester – £40K

I am currently recruiting for an experienced Business Analyst to join a highly successful, growing organisation.

Reporting to the Principal Business Analyst, the Analyst will provide analysis of business user requirements in preparation for the delivery of new operational work for group IT for business applications. This role will interface with the various group IT delivery units and business users.

The Business Analyst will define the requirements of business change initiatives, and produce high-quality analysis deliverables. Through a structured approach they will use their analysis expertise, methodologies and standards to help shape the future processes, system requirements and data needs. In addition, the Business Analyst will assist the developers with business questions, and ensure that the developments effort is aligned to meet the business needs.

 

Essential skills/experience:

  • Previous Business Analysis experience within an Enterprise IT environment
  • Ability to communicate well with non-technical users and developers alike, written and verbal
  • Previous experience of requirements management, elicitation, documentation and analysis into workable business solutions
  • Previous experience of writing Functional & Technical specifications
  • Previous experience of Process Mapping (BPI) – ‘As is’ & ‘To Be’ processes
  • Previous experience of workshop facilitation and presenting to an audience
  • Working knowledge and experience of ERP systems and Oracle Db
  • Experience of working in demanding user and software development environments

Desirable skills/experience:

  • Previous experience of working in a Retail environment and/or with Retailers systems
  • Knowledge of key functional areas such as Buying and Merchandising, warehousing, Finance and e-Commerce
  • An appreciation of analysis methodologies, standards, tools and techniques
  • Experience of System and User Acceptance Testing
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Previous software development experience
  • Experience with SaaS based solutions; implementation and administration
  • Data mining skills and the creation of end-user reports
  • Knowledge of OBIEE (11g & 12c) and Oracle DBMS
  • Experience of Data Integration/ETL tools
  • Understanding of software tools such as Microsoft Visio
  • Understanding of Oracle products relevant to the retail industry
  • UML process modelling knowledge
