Purpose of Job

Ensuring high levels of customer service is achieved regarding vehicle maintenance provision and recharge recovery of both in life and end of life damage. Whilst supporting the Operations Maintenance & Damage Controller and the Branch Manager achieve their targets.

 

Key Features & Responsibilities of the role:

  • Responsible for ensuring that the condition of the hire fleet is maintained to required quality standards
  • Assist with regularly reviewing the physical appearance of the hire fleet and identifying cleaning, repair and maintenance requirements to ensure that the fleet always remains fit for hire and in all respects ie. Roadworthy, taxed and tested, compliant with all applicable legislation, clean and damage free
  • Assist the operations maintenance & damage controller to ensure that accurate detailed check out and check in inspections are done on all vehicles leaving for/returning from/hire or another branch to ensure that responsibility for damage can be finitely determined
  • Notify customers immediately once damage has been identified and obtaining re-charge authorisation from the customer in the form of a customer purchase order or other appropriate written authority and control of repair agents via Agents
  • Ensure that a timely response is given to customer and internal queries and effectively communicating customer correspondence and queries to other departments as appropriate
  • Inform the hirer in a timely manner of maintenance requirements – recall notices and MOT test dates etc for the vehicles on hire. Keeping in regular contact with all clients from the branch to ensure accurate mileages are kept on the fleet in line with manuals
  • Follow up and ensure all clients are contacted regarding service & compliance events
  • In a price sensitive market, ensure they sell on service and retain focus on financial returns. Need to develop excellent working relationships across business units and functions

 

 

Skills, Knowledge and Experience needed:

  • Customer service ethos – several years of experience of succeeding in improving and delivering service to the highest standard
  • Good financial business understanding
  • Strong administrative abilities
  • Proven track record in a customer facing role in a Service or Maintenance environment
  • Good communication skills
  • Capable of building trust and solid working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work under pressure and time restraints

 

This position is subject to the employee holding a full and valid driving licence
