My Client is a well-established, industry leading Engineering company. Based in Darlington, they have seen year on year success, with further growth plans for 2022. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Welder / Fabricator to join their team on a 12 week, Temporary to Permanent basis.

Shift:

Day shift hours are Monday – Thursday 7am - 4:45pm

Main Duties:

  • Reading and interpreting detailed fabrication drawings
  • Setting out of complex fabrications using the appropriate equipment
  • Working in accordance with a build method statement
  • Tack welding components into position following the appropriate welding procedure
  • Lifting, turning, manipulating and moving heavy loads with cranes
  • Working to production deadlines
  • Carrying out self-inspection of fabrications
  • Welding duties in accordance with qualifications
  • Maintaining a safe working environment by only adopting safe working practices and ensuring that housekeeping is of the highest standard
  • Carrying out prior to use safety inspection, record and report any adverse actions / conditions

 

Role Requirements:

  • Time served welder, fabricator or sheet metal worker
  • Experience of TIG, MIG and MMA welding processes
  • Working with stainless steel, mild or aluminium steel
  • Working to tolerances of -1mm and above
  • Experience of working with power tools
  • Ability to oxy flame burn
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Good communication
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Good team player
  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working with band saws and hand tools
