My Client is well established, industry leading chemical manufacturing company. Based in Newton Aycliffe, they have seen year on year success, with further growth plans for 2022. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a FLT Driver to join their team on a Temporary Basis.

The role will be to cover a day shift Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Your primary responsibility is to safely handle pallets and bulk containers and drummed chemicals from the production facility into the warehouse and wrapping finished products,

Main Duties:

  • Control and operate packaging equipment (i.e hand push pallet trucks / banding and strapping machines)
  • Label and top seal drummed finished products, band and wrap, label IBC’s and move to designated areas of the warehouse
  • Ensure that the ovens are loaded with any viscous materials which may be required for manufacture
  • Use a forklift truck to move material within production area during manufacture and to remove finished goods to the warehouse whilst ensuring proper stock rotation
  • Offload lorries and road tankers and ensure that the associated paperwork is completed sufficiently
  • Load lorries and containers with the appropriate finished product and batch number according to the dispatch paperwork
  • Ensure that new deliveries of raw materials are labeled with the appropriate code and stacked in the warehouse correctly
  • Band and shrink wrap pallets of drums and label with shipping marks according to the customer requirements
  • Inspect the forklift truck for faults each morning prior to use
  • Attend a Forklift truck refresher course every three years
  • Always maintain acceptable housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and working environment
  • Operate all equipment and machinery in a safe manner
  • Assist in physical stock checks
  • Work in accordance with Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
  • All other duties deemed necessary for the benefit of the company by management

 

 Role Requirements:

  • Must have experience with FLT Counterbalance
  • Basic chemical handling knowledge (Desirable)
  • Attention to detail
  • Numerical and basic computer skills
  • Have a willingness to learn
  • Be willing to help in other departments
