Salary: GBP12.55 - GBP15.06 per hour

My Client is well established, industry leading Engineering company. Based in County Durham, they have seen year on year success, with further growth plans for 2023. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CNC Machinist to join their team on a Temporary to Permanent basis.

This opportunity gives a CNC Machinist the chance to work with one of the most respected companies in the North-East. They offer not only an excellent package, but more importantly in todays world, job security.

The CNC Machinist role will be to cover a 2-shift pattern 6am-2:30pm / 2:30pm-11:00pm /  Monday to Friday

The CNC’s Primary responsibility is to manufacture quality parts, mainly in Carbon Steel.

Main Duties:

  • Run, set & operate CNC Vertical Machine Centres
  • Setting tools & producing components
  • Loading/unloading of CNC machine tools and fixtures
  • Ability to select, set and change tools
  • Working on highly technical products to tight tolerances
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and policy
  • Complete necessary daily documents

Role Requirements:

  • Must be Time Served Machinists
  • Excellent communication
  • Good Engineering Background
  • Ability to set and operative vertical machining centres
  • Ability to inspect own work
  • Knowledge of Haas, Fanuc or Heidenhain
  • Understand G Codes
  • Understand M Codes
  • Manual Milling experience
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Able to use measuring equipment, micrometres, dial test indicators and Vernier’s
  • Flexibility with regards to shifts and over-time

**Please note, there will be a practical and theoretical machining test during the interview stage
