Day Warehouse Operative – Picking

Location: Tamworth
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 06:00 – 18:00
Contract: Ongoing temporary work with potential for permanent employment

The Best Connection Tamworth are currently recruiting Day Warehouse Operatives to join a well-established business within the distribution industry, based in Tamworth.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous warehouse or picking experience who are looking for long-term, ongoing work, with the potential to secure a permanent position following a successful trial period.

Full training will be provided on Material Handling Equipment (MHE), including PPT and LLOP.

The Role

Working as part of a busy warehouse team, your responsibilities will include:

• Picking and preparing stock for dispatch.
• Putting stock away into the correct warehouse locations.
• Scanning products accurately using warehouse scanning systems.
• Checking stock and reporting any discrepancies.
• Palletising goods ready for dispatch.
• Shrink wrapping pallets and goods securely.
• Loading and preparing goods for onward distribution.
• Operating warehouse MHE, including PPT and LLOP – full training provided.
• Maintaining accurate stock locations and warehouse standards.
• Carrying out general warehouse duties as required.
• Maintaining good housekeeping and a clean, safe working environment.

Working Hours & Pay

• Tuesday – Friday
• 06:00 – 18:00
• Friday: Half day, finishing at 12:00
• £12.71 per hour
• Ongoing work with potential for permanent employment.

Requirements

Previous warehouse or picking experience is preferred, but full training will be provided to candidates with the right attitude.

You will need:

• A reliable and hardworking approach.
• Good attention to detail.
• The ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn and operate MHE.
• The ability to follow instructions and warehouse procedures.
• Good teamwork skills.
• A positive attitude towards warehouse work.
