Presidio are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for an initial 3 month contract with a client in South Dublin.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will act as an escalation point for a small team of IT professionals while implementing projects and managing vendors. You will also work with the Head of IT on architectural decisions affecting the environment and should have a keen grasp on physical infrastructure.

This is a hybrid role with potential to extend. Excellent day rates on offer.

Your responsibilities will include the following:

• Proactive monitoring of all systems to ensure the very highest levels of availability and performance.
• Day to day system administration and configuration to support business needs.
• Assist in the coordination and enactment of system upgrades and enhancements.
• Provide 3^rd level support to Helpdesk team to troubleshoot network and server issues in order to deliver quality IT support services.
• Liaise with 3^rd party service providers to ensure timely resolution of issues and delivery of projects.
• Drive the development and improvement of all aspects of IT infrastructure in support of changing business requirements
• Ensure key infrastructure and applications are appropriately protected and resilient to failure
• Act as escalation point for critical tickets and service affecting issues confidently taking control of situations and directing to a successful resolution
• Stay abreast of developments in IT infrastructure and evaluate new and alternative technologies where appropriate
• Mentor and manage systems administration staff (currently 1 person)

Experience in the following is required:

• Network Engineering (LAN, WAN, Firewalls, AP’s, Switches)
• Azure
• Microsoft 365
• Windows 2008/2012/2016/2020 Server Admin
• Virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMWare)
• Backup and recovery (DPM)
• Monitoring tools (e.g. Solarwinds, AD Audit)
• CyberSecurity and Anti-Virus technology (McAfee EPO, Websense)
• Fortinet, Defender, zScaler an advantage
