Stores Operative

Pay: £12.98 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 4:30pm and Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm (40 hours per week)

Contract: Temp to Perm Opportunity

The Best Connection are recruiting on behalf of our client, a global leader in modular accommodation solutions. We are seeking an experienced Stores Operative to join their busy team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with warehouse and stock control experience looking for long-term employment with the potential of a permanent contract.

Key Responsibilities

As a Stores Operative, your duties will include:

• Receiving and checking deliveries, ensuring goods arrive in good condition
• Safely unloading vehicles using mechanical handling equipment
• Organising, sorting and maintaining warehouse stock
• Monitoring and managing stock levels
• Investigating and following up on late deliveries or missing items
• Maintaining accurate stock records and supporting stock takes
• Operating a Counterbalance B1 Forklift Truck
• Issuing materials and supplies to production operatives as required
• Ensuring all goods are stored safely and in accordance with company procedures
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

Skills & Experience Required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in a stores, warehouse or stock control position
• A valid FLT Counterbalance B1 licence would be desirable but not essential
• Strong stock management and inventory control experience
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• A proactive and reliable approach to work
