The Best Connection is currently recruiting for x2Crosshead Extrusion Setter to join a busy and established manufacturing operation.

Hours of work: Monday-Thursday 06:00-18:00 or 07:00-19:00

Pay rate: £14 plus per hour (dependent on experience)

We are looking for candidates with proven co-extrusion experience, particularly within wire coating, hose extrusion, or pipe extrusion environments. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong understanding of extrusion processes, machine setup, and production line operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting up and preparing extrusion production lines for manufacture.
• Adjusting machine settings to ensure products meet quality specifications.
• Working with a range of materials including PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon, and Nylon.
• Monitoring production performance and making process adjustments where required.
• Packing and preparing finished products.
• Carrying out routine checks to maintain product quality and minimise downtime.
• Ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as an Extrusion Setter.
• Experience within co-extrusion, wire coating, hose extrusion, or pipe extrusion.
• Knowledge of materials such as PVC, Polyurethane, Megalon, and Nylon.
• Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot extrusion production lines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.

Candidates with experience solely in blown film extrusion will not be considered, as this does not align with the requirements of these extrusion roles.
