Yard/FLT Operative – Immediate Start Available

Looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same? The Best Connection West Bromwich is recruiting a Yard/FLT Operative to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Smethwick.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and being part of a supportive team.

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday: 07:00 – 17:00
• Overtime available with premium rates

About the Role

• This is a varied position combining yard duties (70%) and FLT work (30%), with most of your day spent outdoors (full PPE and clothing provided).
• Picking gas cylinders using pick sheets
• Loading and unloading stillages
• Safely securing cylinders using ratchet straps
• Operating a Counterbalance FLT to load/unload HGV vehicles
• Assisting customers with handling cylinders of varying weights
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe yard
• Supporting with general duties as required

What We’re Looking For

• Valid FLT Counterbalance licence (essential)
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Willingness to work overtime when required
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
• Team player with a positive attitude
