Electrical Fit-Out Assistant

Are you confident working with wiring, electrical components and precision assembly? We are recruiting for an Electrical Fit-Out Assistant to join an innovative manufacturing team involved in the production of advanced technology. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong attention to detail and hands-on electrical experience.

· Monday to Friday
· 09:00 – 17:00
· £20.00 - £24.00 (dependant on experience)
The Role
As an Electrical Fit-Out Assistant, you will be responsible for assembling and testing electrical systems to ensure products meet the highest quality standards.
Key duties include:
- Installing wire looms, connectors, sensors and onboard electrical systems.
- Stripping, soldering, crimping and heat-shrinking wiring terminations to specification.
- Following manufacturing orders and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Carrying out quality control checks, continuity testing and functional testing of components.
- Identifying and reporting defects or non-conformances.
- Working efficiently to meet production deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent manual dexterity and steady hands for precision electrical assembly work.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to follow wiring diagrams and detailed manufacturing instructions.
- Experience carrying out electrical testing and accurately recording results.
- Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work at a bench for extended periods.
- Able to commute to Hereford or the surrounding area.
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous but is not essential:
- Wire harness, cable assembly or electrical/electronic fit-out experience.
- Background within aerospace, automotive, marine or similar technical industries.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Soldering experience to IPC/WHMA-A-620 or J-STD-001 standards, or willingness to work towards certification.
- Experience using multimeters, continuity testers and other electrical testing equipment.
- Knowledge of quality-managed manufacturing environments such as ISO 9001.
- A qualification or apprenticeship in electrical, electronics or manufacturing disciplines.
