Senior Hydraulics Engineer — D&C Contractor
To $160,000 + Super | Sydney (Hybrid)
Design complex buildings such as hospitals, stadiums and billion-dollar infrastructure, then watch them get built.
All in-house, start to finish.
If you’re a Senior Hydraulics Engineer, or a Senior Mechanical Engineer who has always also designed the Hydraulic Services, this one’s for you.
Rather only being involved in the design to 50% and never finding out how it works, here you’ll see every project from 50% design through to construction and defects liability.
This a great opportunity for a Senior Hydraulics Engineer to pivot from working in a design consultancy, to a major design and construction contractor.
Working in-house engineering arm of one of the largest commercial plumbers in Australia will give you job security and room to grow your career. With everything in-house including design, construction, and maintenance all under one roof, it gives then full control on cost and quality.
When you're designing a system, you know your team will be the ones building it. And you know you'll still be accountable for it twelve months after handover. That's not a burden, it's the thing that makes the work matter.
You'll join a team of sixteen engineers and work on two to three major live projects at a time, taking hydraulic designs from 50% through to 100% construction-ready documentation.
That means hot and cold water, stacks, sewer, gas, rainwater harvesting, trade waste, and pump systems, the full suite. You'll value engineer incoming designs, run and check calculations in Excel, and interface directly with contractors and construction managers on site.
This isn't a role where you design in isolation and hand off. Here you're expected to hold your own on site, communicate clearly with contractors, and take ownership of outcomes. If that sounds like the kind of accountability you've been looking for, you'll fit in well.
