On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Senior Valuation Analyst -- IPV, PVA, COREP for a 12 months contract based hybrid in London.
Purpose of the Senior Valuation Analyst:
The role is based in London and reports to the head of the London Valuation Risk & Governance (VRG) team. The contractor will be responsible for making sure that all the numbers presented and escalated to the committees are accurate, and also will make sure that there is consistency in the methodology to compute these numbers. There are currently 4 analysts in the team, each one of them covering a dedicated business line: Credit, FXLM.COMM (FX, Local Markets and Commodities activities), xVA and G10 Rates.
As a Senior Valuation Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring that each analyst has performed complete and sound 2nd level controls on the valuation adjustments reported in our monthly committees for which the manager – the London head of VRG – is the secretary. The list of monthly committees is currently: Day One profit committee, Valuation Review Committee. The quarterly committees – for which the manager is the Global Head of VRG - are the Product Financial Committee (department head is the secretary), VRC Prudential Valuation (AVA – department head is the secretary), Non Standard Booking committee (London and Paris heads are the secretaries).
- Ensuring that each contribution from VRG is accurate. This includes monthly extractions of day one profit reporting, valuation reporting, levelling reporting and other metrics that are used in other committees for which we are not the secretary (ICC Committee, CCIRC Committee and some other committees)
- Provide support to the London Head and the Department Head on specific reporting and analysis requests.
- 10 years’ experience in financial industry preferably in valuation control.
- Hands-on in a finance role and experience in delivering for a closing with tight deadlines.
- An understanding of Fixed Income products (bonds, swaps, futures, swaptions, caps, floors, bond options, FX Options, FX Spots, Repos, exotics);
- An understanding of Fixed Income related market data (rates, volatilities, correlations…), and potentially their sources, and the main associated products,
- Good PC skills (VBA and Access, Python would be a serious plus) - Please state the standard of Excel/ VBA/ Access on the CV;
- A good understanding of risk concepts (delta, vega, VaR…);
- An good understanding of the basic concepts and models in mathematical finance;
- A deep sense of control in particular on independent valuation controls;
- Some familiarity with P&L reporting processes and stakes;
- An understanding of deal processing flows and associated issues;
- MA/MS education background;
