We are recruiting an experienced Maintenance Fitter for a large recycling / materials recovery site on the Gold Coast (Carrara area).

The role

• Temp to permanent for the right candidate
• Start on dayshift for a short training period, then move to ongoing afternoon shift
• Permanent rate $48 per hour plus applicable shift loadings
• Casual afternoon shift rate approximately $69 per hour (includes casual loading and afternoon shift loading)
• Long-term ongoing opportunity

About the work You will be maintaining plant and equipment in a busy recycling environment. Duties include:

• Preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
• Mechanical fault finding on conveyors, balers, sorting equipment and rotating plant
• Shutdown work and planned maintenance
• Basic welding and boilermaking tasks
• Hydraulics, pneumatics and general mechanical fitting
• Working safely to site WHS and lockout/tagout procedures

About you

• Qualified or experienced Maintenance / Mechanical Fitter
• Strong hands-on experience in manufacturing, recycling, waste or heavy industrial plant
• Comfortable with breakdowns, preventative maintenance and shutdown work
• Basic welding skills highly regarded
• Reliable, safety-focused and able to work unsupervised
• Full working rights and available for ongoing afternoon shift after training
