Procurement and Production Planner

Acorn has a new opportunity with our client, a specialist manufacturer based in the Caerphilly borough. Due to expansion, our client is looking to recruit a Procurement and Production Planner to manage inventory; and production planning and scheduling of customer orders.
This is a great opportunity for someone to join our team and make an impact in a growing fast paced manufacturing environment.
Main Role and Responsibilities
• Reviewing customer demand and adjusting production plans appropriately, and communication with production, sales and materials teams to ensure efficient material availability
• Produce daily production plans in line with department deadlines
• Manage requirements for all production areas; raw materials and distribution
• Create and manage forecasts for all customers
• Monitor all on-site stock control for production and raw materials
• Manage Goods In documentation for stock control purposes
• Purchasing from current suppliers and analysing current supplier performance
• Relationship management with current supplier base
• Sourcing and establishing potential new suppliers with Supply Chain Manager
• Producing reports and reducing cost, whilst always maintaining quality
• Order processing as required
• Planning of production through their internal processes
Skills & Experience
Essential requirements:
• Planning and scheduling in a mass production environment with multiple product categories
• Management of stock control experience
• Creation and management of forecasts
• Used to working in an environment measured where OTIF is a critical measure
• Experienced and confident ERP user
Advantageous requirements:
• Proven history of cost reduction
• Use of Bill of Materials
• Production Planning experience
• Procurement experience
• Food manufacturing/food packaging experience in particular in relation to quality standards; compliance and auditing requirements.
• Experience of using Oracle (NetSuite) as an MRP system
You:
• Confident, tactful, and articulate kin dealing with colleagues, suppliers and customers
• Target driven, used to being measured by results
• Systematic, meticulous in observance of quality systems and documentation
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent planning and organisational skills
Salary: Circa £35k plus share options
Holidays: 22 days & 8 Bank Holidays
Hours of Work: 8.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday (1-hour lunch break)
