Administrative Officer (AO) - Court Administration
Location: First Avenue House, High Holborn, London, WC1R 4RH
• Pay: £15.59 per hour
• Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (37 hours per week)
• Assignment: to 31/03/2027 (extension possible)
• Clearance: Basic DBS (Provided by Brook Street for the successful candidate)
• Training: No holidays to be taken within the first 2 weeks for training

We’re recruiting for an Administrative Officer (AO) to join a busy, professional court environment in London (office-based). You’ll play a vital role in preparing materials for hearings, managing key admin processes, and delivering excellent service to internal and external customers.
What you'll be doing:
• Prepare papers and files for court hearings and meetings
• Produce court documents, letters, correspondence, minutes, notes, reports and submissions (following guidelines)
• Create, update and maintain accurate records on an in-house system, including data input
• Support opening and dispatch, including agendas, joining instructions and handouts
• Carry out clerking duties-ensuring paperwork and materials are up to date for the Judge
• Support listing and rota management, and check files to keep processes on track
• Contact relevant parties to schedule, serve and manage court documentation
• Handle counter (face-to-face) enquiries as well as written and telephone enquiries
• Help ensure the daily TIB (Team Information Board) meeting is relevant, timely and productive
• Process casework to produce accurate court orders-interpreting the required information from court files
• Work to workload targets for both throughput and accuracy, including cross-checking/validation as needed
• Assemble and communicate information required to run daily meetings and support operations
• Provide helpful, prompt, polite “right first time” service to the public, judiciary and stakeholders
What you'll bring:
• Strong customer focus and service skills
• Experience in an administrative role in a customer-focussed environment
• Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages
• Excellent communication and strong organisational skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when interpreting information from documents
• Ability to work well under targets and contribute as part of a team
