Receptionist (Probation Contact Centre) - Band 2
Location: Leeds (Waterloo House, LS1 2EE)
• Pay rate: £12.71 per hour
• Full-time, 37 hours per week, office-based, with late-night cover (unsocial hours including evenings/weekends as required by business need)
• Enhanced DBS required (Costs covered by the hiring process)
• Training will be provided
• Assignment length: until 24/11/2026, with potential to extend depending on live recruitment and successful vetting

Our Client is hiring for a reputed client to provide professional reception and administrative support within the Probation Service, supporting visitors, people on probation, and teams across the building.
What you'll be doing:
• Acting as a friendly, professional first point of contact-answering phones, greeting visitors and people on probation face to face and via telephone/email
• Logging arrivals/departures, issuing visitor passes and security fobs, and ensuring the right person is notified
• Handling queries on Reception (including basic Probation Service information) and directing more complex enquiries to the appropriate manager
• Supporting day-to-day building logistics-managing mail, ordering stationery/PPE, coordinating meeting room set-ups, and tracking deliveries
• Supporting petty cash and bus fare/travel warrant processes for people on probation
• Assisting with health, safety and security-acting as key holder where needed, operating building security, and supporting fire alarm/panic alarm testing and evacuation measures (including supporting as Fire Warden/First Aider where trained)
• Keeping accurate logs of building faults/incidents and escalating maintenance/repair issues using appropriate processes
• Providing confidential administrative support to operational teams when required, including file updates, scanning/archiving (including sensitive information), and producing documentation
• Using Microsoft Office (including Excel) to support administrative tasks and data input

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills-clear, polite, and professional, even in challenging moments
• A calm, tactful approach with strong situational awareness, including the ability to diffuse potentially difficult situations and escalate appropriately
