Admin Officer (AO)
Location: Chatham (Medway Civil & Family Court, ME4 4AR)
• Pay rate: £13.25 per hour
• Working hours/pattern: Mon-Fri, 9:00-17:00
• Assignment: 6 months, with possibility of extension
• Training: On-the-job training provided (no travel to other locations required)
• Clearance: Enhanced DBS required - provided by Brook Street for successful candidate

What you'll be doing:
• Deliver excellent customer service by supporting court users and stakeholders in person, over the phone (incoming and outbound), and via correspondence in a range of formats
• Prepare and support a variety of hearings through end-to-end administrative tasks
• Use service scripts and knowledge articles to signpost people to the right support, especially where needs may be complex
• Manage correspondence and follow the relevant complaints policies and procedures-helping to prevent escalation and responding promptly when required
• Process work using standard operating procedures to meet performance targets and maintain service standards
• Handle case files with accurate data entry, secure information management, and compliance with retention and data loss protocols
• Support jury service tasks, including selection, deferral, reassignment, attendance tracking, and related expenses/court fee processing
• Assist with listing and scheduling, supporting responsiveness to urgent matters and adherence to listing policies
• Provide dedicated judicial business support (including diary coordination and local administrative tasks)
• Support enforcement procedures, including financial assessments, fine collection support, and producing basic statistical/financial reports
• Contribute to health and safety activity-supporting PEEPs, facility checks, issue logging, and key/safety governance under guidance

• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to enter and manage information accurately and securely
• A calm, responsive approach-able to support urgent situations and help prevent matters from escalating
• Comfort working to procedures and performance expectations, while maintaining high service standards
• Practical organisation skills to manage casework, scheduling support, and tracking tasks
