Head of IT (Applications, Architect & AI) (A000000 (ACBY-541186) Hong Kong
Our client is a well‑established organisation with a centrally managed Corporate IT function, currently strengthening its application and digital capabilities to better support business operations and user‑centric initiatives.
They are now seeking a senior technology leader to oversee application operations and drive key digital initiatives, working closely with business stakeholders to ensure technology solutions are aligned with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end‑to‑end application and digital system operations, ensuring stability, reliability, and alignment with business objectives.
- Act as the key interface between business stakeholders and IT teams, translating business requirements into effective technology solutions.
- Lead and collaborate with multiple teams, including:
- In‑house Application Development & Support team (Azure‑based), led by a Senior Manager.
- Digital Solutions team responsible for vendor product management (e.g. SAP HANA, Oracle).
- Enterprise Architecture, Data & AI functions.
- Drive and govern key technology initiatives and projects, including chatbot, IoT, workflow automation, and customer usage platforms.
- Prepare, present, and justify business cases and technology proposals to senior management.
- Work closely with vendors and partners to manage enterprise platforms, system enhancements, and service delivery.
- Ensure application performance, scalability, and continuous improvement across core and customer‑facing systems.
- Provide strong stakeholder management, aligning IT delivery roadmaps with leasing and wider business priorities.
- Support digital transformation initiatives across applications, data, and AI in collaboration with architecture and analytics teams.
Key Requirements:
- University degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of IT experience, with at least 10 years in a leadership role managing application and digital teams.
- Strong hands‑on experience with enterprise systems, particularly ERP platforms (SAP preferred), and exposure to data analytics tools.
- Proven experience managing both in‑house development teams and vendor‑led digital solutions.
- Prior experience in an enterprise company is an advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership and people management skills across multidisciplinary teams.
