Our client is a leading international financial services organisation with a strong presence in Asia–Pacific. The technology function plays a central role in enabling digital transformation across business lines, with a strong focus on security, scalability, and modern engineering practices.

They are currently looking to hire a life insurance specialized technical leader to provide enterprise and solution architecture leadership across their insurance platforms and digital capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide enterprise and solution architecture leadership across insurance platforms and services, defining clear architectural direction and ensuring alignment between business strategy and technology execution
  • Develop and articulate end‑to‑end solution designs, producing architecture proposals that balance business outcomes, regulatory requirements, security, and operational resilience
  • Partner closely with senior stakeholders across business, product, architecture, and engineering to drive consensus and decision‑making on complex technology initiatives
  • Define target‑state and transition architectures for insurance core platforms, digital channels, and shared services, ensuring long‑term scalability and maintainability
  • Lead architecture strategy for foundational and enterprise platforms, with a forward‑looking view of technology evolution, industry trends, and InsurTech innovation
  • Act as a domain architect for Insurance, applying strong understanding of insurance operating models and distribution channels, including bancassurance, agency, broker, and third‑party partnerships
  • Own and maintain architecture standards, principles, and roadmaps for insurance capabilities within the Hong Kong market, ensuring consistency with group architecture governance
  • Design secure, resilient, and cloud‑native solutions, leveraging modern platforms and services while ensuring compliance with internal and external controls
  • Provide hands‑on design oversight and guidance to delivery teams, reviewing technical designs and ensuring solutions meet both functional and non‑functional requirements
  • Translate complex technical architectures into clear, business‑focused narratives, enabling non‑technical stakeholders to make informed decisions
  • Take accountability for architecture outcomes from early ideation through delivery and post‑production, ensuring solutions can be efficiently operated, evolved, and supported over time

 

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in large enterprise environments, with exposure to both legacy and modern technology landscapes within an Insurance context
  • Strong background in enterprise and solution architecture, including defining target architectures, reference models, and technology roadmaps
  • Solid understanding of insurance business processes and systems, across policy administration, underwriting, claims, distribution, and customer servicing
  • Good knowledge of AI and emerging technologies, with the ability to assess practical use cases and business impact within insurance
  • Hands‑on experience architecting solutions on cloud platforms, including native services and security patterns
  • Strong understanding of modern application architectures, including microservices, API‑led integration, and event‑driven designs
  • Familiar with containerised platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes, and their role in enterprise‑scale platforms
  • Experience with modern SDLC and engineering practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated environments
  • Broad knowledge of front‑end and back‑end technology stacks, with the ability to review engineering deliverables and influence technical standards
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at both business and senior technology leadership levels
