Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a permanent Credit Controller in Brighouse, West Yorkshire for their client who is a well established group of companies specialising in the supply of commercial assets.

Hours of work - 8.30-5.30pm M-F

Salary - £26,000 - £30,000 p/a depending on experience

Duties:

• Dealing with Key Accounts regarding overdue debts, issuing of invoices and statements, resolution of queries and controlling online billing

• Liaison with customers regarding overdue debts and collection of those in line with the Company Credit Policy, maintaining individual areas within the Sales Ledger, by telephone, letter, email and personal visit if required

• Control of a debtor’s ledger that requires collection of debt in line with the company Credit Policy, maintaining individual areas within the Sales Ledger, by telephone, letter and email

• Identification and elimination of opportunities for customers to delay payment

• Identify non-compliance in any areas and reporting occurrences to the Head of Credit, including notifications of formal payment arrangements, returned cheques, bounced direct debits and other issues of non-payment

• Identification, progress chasing and resolution of invoice queries utilising online portal query management systems

• Production of weekly/monthly reports for credit reviews

• Liaison with Operations, Sales and Legal departments to resolve issues that may clear invoices for payment

•  Issuing branch authorisation codes for equipment release to existing customers

• Administration of direct debiting process, daily payment input & daily electronic invoicing

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years credit control experience
• Proven planning, organisational, time management and negotiation skills and ability to follow tasks through to a successful conclusion
• Ample self-confidence and strength of personality to be able to communicate with and persuade adversaries and supporters alike with the ability to liaise successfully with other departments within the business
• Self-motivator with enough incentive to meet targets set and provide a positive contribution to the performance of the business
• Team player able to work with minimum supervision
