Contract Hire Manager

Contract Hire Manager (DGTT1095) Milton Keynes, England

Salary: GBP30000 - GBP35000 per annum

Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a permanent Contract Hire Manager for their client who is a well established group of companies specialising in the supply of commercial assets

Hours of work - 8.30am-5.30pm M-F

Salary - £30,000 - £35,000 p/a depending on experience

Purpose of Job

The Contract Hire Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing long-term rental, contract hire and finance sales of the company's truck and trailer fleet, as well as working in conjunction with the Regional Sales Manager and Branch Sales Managers and will be jointly responsible for the achievement of the sales and profit results of the branches within the designated sales area.

Duties:

    1. Working closely with senior management to set and achieve growth objectives
    2. Maintaining a high level of truck and trailer utilisation to achieve set sales revenue targets
    3. Developing a long-term sales strategy and detailed pipeline for the designated sales area. 
    4. Agreeing an action plan in conjunction with the managers on a quarterly and annual basis to achieve the areas revenue target for contract sales
    5. Ensuring that the CRM system, currently SID (Sales Information Database), is kept up to date at all times. This is a primary function of the role
    6. The job holder will be responsible for a geographical area that covers a set number of branches
    7. Regularly feedback market intelligence on both the activities of our customers and competitors  
    8. Highlighting any branch operational issues affecting sales performance to the regional managers
    9. Maintaining regular contact with the regional managers to ensure complete transparency in sales activities relating to the nominated area
    10. Using your own initiative in researching information on potential customers, which will be achieved through sightings, trade publications, historical data, industry knowledge, SID, monitoring current customers’ usage and own contacts
    11. Developing an effective sales process by identifying sales opportunities with actions, dates, and responsibilities, and ensuring all opportunities are concluded successfully with maximised revenue returns
    12. Signing rental orders exceeding 12 months for the Company's products and services to be operated by the assigned branches, working closely with the Head Office Fleet and Contracts teams
    13. Ensuring that specific or new conquest sales targets are achieved within time limits to contribute to the overall sales achievement
    14. Completing all administration accurately and effectively in line with company guidelines
    15. Building and maintaining good relationships with customers and informing them of changes and developments in the company's products and services

 

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

    1. A minimum of five years’ external sales experience
    2. The holder must hold a full, valid UK driving licence
    3. Excellent time-management, planning and organisational skills to effectively maximise sales opportunities across a large area of responsibility
    4. Effective negotiation skills, with the ability to construct, deliver and close complex proposals to multiple stakeholders
    5. Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
    6. The ability to always communicate professionally with credibility and gravitas
    7. Knowledge of UK logistics, distribution, and transportation markets
    8. Must be interested in and have a basic understanding of trucks and trailers
    9. The capability to work using your own initiative and lead ad-hoc project teams
