Hours of work - 8.30-5.30pm M-F

Location - Garforth

Purpose of Job:

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for servicing and repairing forklift trucks at designated customer and company locations 

Duties:

  • Diagnosing, repairing and servicing forklift trucks at designated locations with minimal supervision, in a safe and economic manner, employing such skills and knowledge as required at minimum cost to the Company
  • Ensuring all repairs carried out are reported in writing, together with parts used and time taken, on a Company service/maintenance report
  • Examining fork trucks and reporting verbally or in writing regarding their condition
  • Ensuring any Company tools and equipment issued are maintained in a clean and tidy condition
  • Ensuring the Company vehicle (service van) is kept clean and tidy at all times
  • Ensuring safe working practices are always observed while observing all health and safety regulations applicable at customer locations
  • Reporting any defective tools or equipment to the Branch Manager immediately
  • Maintaining good contact with all designated customers whilst acting in the best interests of the Company

Person Specification:

  • The job holder must hold a full, valid UK driving licence
  • Mechanical knowledge on material handling equipment is essential
  • Fully skilled Fork Truck Lift Fitter
  • Ability to work on diesel, LPG and electronic systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently to a high standard, with a great degree of care
