Are you an experienced Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Specialist looking for an exciting opportunity in the renewable energy sector? We are hiring multiple specialists to join a leading renewable energy business, working on large-scale infrastructure projects that drive sustainability and environmental responsibility.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and Appropriate Assessments (AA/NIS) for major projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Role Overview:

  • Lead EIA processes for large-scale renewable energy developments, ensuring compliance with environmental and planning regulations.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of EIARs, AA/NIS, and other statutory documentation.
  • Provide expert environmental guidance to planning teams and business stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with Irish planning policies, legislation, and environmental regulations to ensure best practices.
  • Work closely with local communities, stakeholders, and statutory bodies to support project approvals.
  • Assist in procurement processes, managing third-party environmental consultants when required.
  • Ensure all activities align with health, safety, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, sharing expertise in EIA and environmental planning.


Key Requirements:

  • Degree (Level 8) in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification (Level 9) in a relevant discipline is advantageous but not essential.
  • 5+ years of experience leading EIAR and AA/NIS for large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of EIA processes, Irish planning laws, and environmental compliance.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams on complex environmental assessments.
  • Background in renewable energy or Strategic Infrastructure Development (SID) projects is a plus.
  • Additional expertise in an EIA-related field (e.g., ecology, air quality, noise) is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priorities and timelines.
