Gi Group is seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to join an established Engineering team in Mayo. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and managing engineering projects across two production sites, delivering new installations and continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering projects in line with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) standards and internal quality requirements
  • Manage cross-functional project teams, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to required standards
  • Drive and support health, safety, and environmental compliance across all project activities
  • Develop and implement project plans, design specifications, and testing protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Apply change management processes and oversee associated documentation
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
  • Manage project budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) during internal and external audits
  • Collaborate effectively with internal departments, contractors, and third-party vendors
  • Provide occasional out-of-hours support to meet project deadlines

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Desirable:
  • Project Management qualification or training
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Background in construction, facility systems, utilities, or pharmaceutical processing
  • Experience in commissioning
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical or medical device industries
