Overview:
GI Group is recruiting an experienced Maintenance Electrician for a leading wastewater treatment facility based in Dublin. This hands-on role is essential to ensuring the smooth and safe operation of all electrical systems across a complex industrial site. If you're a team player with strong fault-finding skills and a proactive attitude, this could be the opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, control panels, and equipment
- Install and maintain industrial communication systems and heavy-duty electrical installations
- Wire, terminate, and maintain motors, pumps, VSDs, circuit boards, and panels
- Implement preventative maintenance plans, including thermography and instrument calibration
- Conduct failure analysis and propose improvements
- Record all maintenance activities on the site’s CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management System)
- Adhere to and promote best-practice safety protocols and procedures
- Ensure compliance with permits, risk assessments, and wiring regulations
- Support the implementation of electrical safety standards in collaboration with HSEQ personnel
- Provide out-of-hours electrical support during plant start-up and shutdown
- Participate in the on-call rota
- Collaborate with production teams to address equipment concerns and process reliability
- Contribute to system upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Electrical National Craft Certificate (Essential)
- Minimum 5 years’ industrial experience in a similar role
- Proven ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical documentation
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs, ABB and Endress+Hauser instrumentation, and Auma actuators is desirable
- Knowledge of ATEX environments is an advantage
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in a fast-paced operational setting
