I am looking to identify an exceptional "build-and-scale" Business Manager/COO-type profile for my client, a high-profile Investment Banking Capital Markets desk based in the Gulf region.

Naturally, applicants for Business Manager (Markets), should have a strong grasp of FX, Fixed Income (Rates & Credit), and Equities, and be fully versant in the full front-to-back trade lifecycle. Personality-wise, this would suit an individual who is adventurous, confident, flexible, hands-on, and who demonstrates common sense/ a down-to-earth attitude.

This Business Manager (Markets) role is NOT purely:

• an operational or reporting role
• a fire-fighting role
• a role where you will only problem-solve broken processes or manage escalations
• a governance/headcount management type role

It is:

• a process & Target Operating Model design role
• an operational improvement role
• a project oversight/ project management role

Projects may include new product launches, improvements to trading and back-office processes, regulatory or platform implementations, and you will work every day with the desk heads and the Head of Markets.
