Employbridge Search is currently recruiting for a Safety Specialist in Sun Valley CA area. Our client is looking for Safety Specialist who will oversee safety in the workplace and ensure environmental compliance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and ensure the safety of the workplace and environment and comply with relevant laws and regulations. Maintain a healthy work environment
• Perform safety audits and inspections, investigating accidents. Identifying and mitigating potential hazards
• Conduct safety investigation and audits, reporting incidents, accidents, and near misses
• Identify and reduce risks to health and environment. Perform corrective actions implement and train appropriately.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety and environmental documentations
• Develop and coordinate training programs to ensure employees develop safe work practices
• Provide guidance and support to employees on safety and environmental best practices
• Accompanies OSHA compliance officer and other agency agents during inspection and facility walk through
• Subject matter expert with government agencies, legal counsel, and cross-functional teams regarding safety and environmental matters
• Protecting the company’s reputation through compliance with regulations, ethical practices and transparency
• Travel to other site locations as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 plus years of experience in a health and safety role within a manufacturing environment
• Solid understanding of Safety and HAZMAT Certifications
• Understanding of federal and State OSHA regulations and deadlines
• Excellent presentation skills both written and verbal
• Strong MS Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems
• Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving and attention to detail
• In accordance with California laws, the expected salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000/year plus car allowance. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and education
