Salary: GBP35000 - GBP40000 per annum

Purpose of Job

 

To identify and secure long term and short-term rental business of the Company's bus and coach fleet as well as other linked products and services.

 

Key Features

 

The job holder reports to the Sales Director with the objective of securing business opportunities for bus and coach products. The job holder has regular contact with the Sales Director to ensure that sales efforts are directed in accordance with Company sales plans.

 

The job holder acts on his/her own initiative in researching information on potential customers, which is achieved through sightings, trade publications, historical data, past contracts, industry knowledge, internet, monitoring existing customers usage, and own contacts.

 

 Major Activities Include:

 

  • Building new and maintaining existing customer relationships
  • Achieving set targets and objectives
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Demonstrating an excellent and thorough knowledge of the Company’s products and services
  • Maintaining accurate sales records via the Sales Information Database (SID)
  • Maintaining the quality and integrity of the Sales Information Database (SID)
  • Providing excellent communication with customers as well as fellow colleagues and other businesses
  • Demonstrating sound commercial judgement
  • Working on own initiative in researching market opportunities
  • Producing regular monthly reports to deadlines
  • Generating opportunity for products

 

Direction

  • The Managing Director makes decisions on rental rates for both long and short-term hires
  • Decisions are based on length of hire and volume of business and equipment availability
  • The job holder plans their own agenda and visits

Decisions referred upward include:

  • Complex questions regarding leasing or contract hire
  • Customers who require own livery or any changes to specific vehicles

 

 Principal Accountabilities

  • Maximise the return on investment from selling the Company's bus and coach products
  • Maintain a professional approach always
  • Sign long-term orders (12 months+) for the Company's bus and coach products
  • Ensure that specific sales targets and KPIs are achieved within time limits set
  • Complete all administration accurately, effectively, and within given deadlines
  • Build and maintain good relationships with customers
  • Inform customers of changes and developments in the Company's products and services
  • Maintain an awareness of trade and field situations
  • Ensure appropriate action to meet changing circumstances
  • Ensure the Company maintains its market leading position

 

 Knowledge & Experience

  • Full, valid UK driving licence
  • An experienced negotiator in face to face selling with an ability to 'close the sale'
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high level of personal presentation
  • Sound general education and a basic knowledge of vehicles and transport
  • Sound working knowledge of the bus and coach industry
