Assistant Management Accountant

We are supporting an innovative energy-sector organisation in Aberdeenshire with the appointment of an Assistant Management Accountant on a contract basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional looking to gain exposure across multiple entities while working in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The role offers real involvement in reporting, controls, and financial performance rather than purely transactional duties.

The Role

Working closely with the finance team, you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial information to support decision-making across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the production of monthly management accounts within agreed deadlines

• Preparing and posting month-end journals including accruals, prepayments and fixed asset entries

• Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities

• Reviewing inventory reconciliations and investigating variances

• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insight where required

• Raising customer invoices and monitoring receivables to ensure strong cash flow management

• Maintaining aged debt reporting and supporting credit control activity

• Assisting with supplier invoice processing in line with internal financial controls

• Supporting audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements

About You

We are keen to speak with candidates who are:

• Part-qualified (ACCA, CIMA or similar) or actively studying

• Experienced within a finance or accounting environment

• Comfortable working with reconciliations and month-end processes

• Confident using Excel and financial systems

• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills

• Organised and able to manage deadlines effectively
