W2 Contract

Pay Rate: $35 - $45 per hour

Location: Redwood City, CA - Hybrid Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and service-oriented Food & Beverage Coordinator to oversee café and break room operations across our headquarters. Reporting to the Senior Director, Food & Beverage, Events, this on-site role plays a critical part in maintaining quality, cleanliness, compliance, and overall employee experience within our food and beverage spaces.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily café operations, ensuring cleanliness, stocking, organization, and presentation standards are consistently met.
  • Coordinate café setup and breakdown for daily service and special events.
  • Submit and track work orders for equipment or facility-related issues.
  • Ensure proper cleaning, preventative maintenance, and operational readiness of café equipment.
  • Partner with Facilities and vendors to resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and labeling standards across all break rooms.
  • Oversee day porter activities to ensure consistent replenishment and upkeep.
  • Ensure food safety standards are upheld, including proper labeling and storage practices.
  • Support branding and visual consistency across café and break room spaces in alignment with our standards.
  • Maintain productive working relationships with café, snack, beverage, and service vendors.
  • Monitor vendor performance to ensure service quality, cleanliness, and compliance with standards.
  • Track expenses and support reporting to ensure operations remain within approved budget parameters.
  • Identify cost efficiencies and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Partner with Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) to ensure all café and break room operations meet safety and sustainability standards.
  • Support sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction and environmentally responsible practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all health department regulations, permitting requirements, and inspection readiness.
  • Maintain documentation and coordinate renewals for required health department permits.
  • Uphold high-quality standards across food presentation, cleanliness, service levels, and operational execution.
  • Support feedback mechanisms to continuously improve food and beverage spaces.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive, comfortable, and welcoming environment for all employees.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in food & beverage operations, hospitality, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health department compliance standards.
  • Experience coordinating vendors and service providers in a corporate or high-volume environment.
  • Strong organizational and systems skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills across diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a corporate, biotech, or high-growth environment.
  • Familiarity with work order systems and basic facilities coordination.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus.
