Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting Production Operatives to work for one of our well-established clients in the Newport area.

What We Offer

• £12.85 per hour plus shift premium of £77.04.
• HYBRID shift pattern.
• Full training provided for operating robots manually.

Days

• Monday to Thursday: 5:30am-1:45pm.
• Friday: 5:30am-11:45am.

Nights

• Sunday: 5:30pm-5:30am (12-hour shift).
• Monday to Thursday: 9:30pm-5:45am.

Week Off

• Off for 1 week.

Weekend Shifts

• Two 12-hour shifts on Friday and Saturday.

Afternoons

• Monday to Thursday: 1:30pm-9:45pm.
• Friday: 11:30am-5:30pm.

Key Duties / Key Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to assist in the production process.
• Conduct visual quality checks of all products.
• Load and unload products onto the production line.
• Undertake manual handling activities.
• Operate robots manually if any problems occur, with full training provided.
• Run the Oxide Mill, working with pure lead and heat torches.
• Abide by all Health & Safety guidelines.
• Ensure good housekeeping and 5S standards are maintained within the area of responsibility.

Requirements

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience with heavy industry products and hot metals.
• Numerate and literate.
• PC literate.
• Enthusiastic with a responsible attitude.
• Common-sense approach with good interpersonal skills.
• Good attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work under pressure and achieve targets.
• Flexible approach to working hours.
• Must be able to wear an Airflow mask, as this is mandatory due to the nature of the work, and therefore must be clean shaven.
• Must be willing to have blood tests every 3 months for Lead level checks.

Desirable Requirements

• GCSE passes in Mathematics and English Language.
• Knowledge of Microsoft.
• Robotic knowledge.
• Knowledge of the FIFO system.
