Job Overview
A well-established healthcare provider in Dublin is seeking a Part-Time Phlebotomist to join its Phlebotomy Department on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone experienced in phlebotomy who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a busy clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform routine blood draws and sample collection according to hospital procedures

Ensure accurate patient identification and proper labelling of samples

Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and confidentiality

Support quality management initiatives and participate in audits

Assist in maintaining stock levels and documentation

Collaborate with senior staff to improve departmental practices
-
Follow health and safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment

Participate in ongoing training and service improvement efforts
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet one of the following:
-
Hold a QQI Level 6 (or higher) qualification in Phlebotomy

Hold a recognised Certificate in Phlebotomy (e.g., DIT, DCU, or NASC)

Be registered as a nurse or midwife with the NMBI
-
OR have at least 2 years’ experience as a phlebotomist in an acute hospital setting*
*Candidates without a formal qualification must be willing to complete one within 12 months of starting the role.
Other Requirements:

Certification in phlebotomy and cannulation from an accredited organisation

Strong clinical and administrative competence
Desirable Experience

Familiarity with ISO15189 standards

Experience using the iLab Laboratory Information System
