Customer Service & Administrative Assistant (AO x1)
Location & Building: Dudley Magistrates Court, with additional support provided to Walsall and Wolverhampton Magistrates Courts as required.
Working Days / Hours: Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Office-based
Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour
Level of Clearance Required:  Basic DBS
If you’re organised, calm under pressure, and confident helping people through process-heavy situations, Our Client is looking for a customer-focused administrator to join a busy Government environment in Dudley. This is a role where your communication makes a real difference-supporting users, stakeholders, and operational teams to keep justice services running smoothly.
What you'll be doing:
• Validate and manage day-to-day vacancy and administrative checks to ensure processes are accurate
• Prepare for, facilitate and support a range of hearing administration tasks
• Provide face-to-face and phone support (incoming and outbound), and respond to correspondence in different formats
• Use HMCTS service scripts and knowledge articles to signpost users to the right support and provide clear, consistent guidance-especially for users with specific or complex needs
• Follow complaints policies and procedures, responding promptly where needed to help prevent escalation and keep records up to date
• Support operational requirements by working to standard operating procedures and meeting performance targets
• Handle case files with accurate data entry, secure information management, and compliance with retention and data loss protocols
• Manage jury service tasks such as selection, deferral, reassignment and attendance tracking, plus process expenses and court fees
• Assist with listing and scheduling, responding to urgent matters and following listing policies
• Support enforcement procedures, including financial assessments, fine collection support, and basic financial/statistical reporting
• Contribute to health and safety operations, including PEEPs, facility checks, issue logging and key/safety governance under team leader guidance
