Production Supervisor

Are you an experienced Supervisor? Looking for a new role within Food Manufacturing that offers support & progression? Do you pride yourself on attention to detail?

Our client, a market leading Food Manufacturer are looking to recruit a Production Supervisor to join their team based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

As a Production Supervisor you will ensure the processes, production and quality of the products meet the safest and highest specification, whilst ensuring that all staff within your area of responsibility work safely and efficiently.

Working hours as a Production Supervisor are Monday to Friday 05:30 – 14:00 and 14:00 – 22:00 alternating, working one weekend in four with a rest day the following Monday.

As a Production Supervisor you will:

• Ensure all operatives working on your production line comply with company, legislative, health & safety, food safety and personal hygiene procedures and regulations including pre-production line check sheets.
• Achieve or exceed daily performance targets.
• Control and organise necessary supply of film, labels and hygiene equipment for current and next shift’s production.
• Liaise with the Technical team with regards to any quality and food safety issues and ensure that all relevant dates are correct for the day’s production.
• Work closely with the Engineering department with regards any engineering issues which may affect lines performance.
• Where required, liaise with your Section Manager to change and adjust the production plan to ensure that the most efficient daily production is achieved.
• Ensure that all the relative paperwork is 100% complete at the end of each production run.
• Responsible for maintaining a high standard of hygiene and housekeeping. Ensuring all cleaning and hygiene of machinery is carried out to the standards required.
• Train and develop your team of production operatives.

Skills required as a Production Supervisor:

• Experience of operating machinery
• Previous experience of working within Food Production environment
• Food Safety Level 3
• An understanding and application of line safety inspections
• Health and Safety awareness
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Logical and methodical thinker
• A strong team player who can work collaboratively with other departments with a willingness to share knowledge and build the capabilities of others
• Knowledge and use of CI techniques would be desirable
