Communication Support Worker – BSL Level 3 – East London

Morgan Hunt is recruiting a Communication Support Worker to support deaf and hearing-impaired learners aged 16–19 within a further education college in East London.

This is an opportunity to help learners access their education, participate in college life and develop their confidence and independence.

The role

• Provide communication support using British Sign Language during lessons and college activities.
• Support learners in understanding teaching materials, instructions and discussions.
• Facilitate communication between learners, teaching staff and their peers.
• Work closely with lecturers and learning support staff to meet individual support needs.
• Encourage learner participation, independence and progression.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion and learner wellbeing.

What we’re looking for

• A BSL Level 3 qualification is essential.
• Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired learners.
• An understanding of the barriers learners may face in an educational setting.
• Strong communication skills and a patient, adaptable approach.
• A commitment to safeguarding and creating an inclusive learning environment.
