Sheet Metal Grinder – Day Shift

Looking for a hands-on role within a well-established manufacturing company? The Best Connection Swindon is currently recruiting for a Metal Grinder on behalf of a respected client in the sheet metal industry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a skilled production team within a busy and supportive workshop environment.

Our client is based in the Swindon area and is easily accessible by public transport.

Hours and Pay

• Monday to Friday, Day Shift
• 40 hours per week 8am- 4:30pm
• Salary £13.50 - £13.80 DOE
• Overtime available when required

Key Responsibilities

Grinding & Finishing:

Grinding, smoothing, and finishing metal components to a high standard using handheld grinders and finishing tools.

Quality Control:

Inspecting finished products to ensure all surfaces meet company quality standards and customer specifications.

Production Support:

Supporting the fabrication and production teams with preparation and finishing work as required.

Tool & Machinery Use:

Using workshop machinery, hand tools, and grinding equipment safely and efficiently.

Material Handling:

Moving and handling sheet metal components safely within the workshop environment.

Health & Safety:

Following all health and safety procedures, wearing the correct PPE, and maintaining a clean and organised workspace.

Requirements and Skills

• Previous grinding or metal finishing experience preferred
• Experience using handheld grinders and workshop tools
• Good attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality finishes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Physically fit and comfortable handling metal components
• Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently or within a team
• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety procedures
