HGV Class 2 Drayman / Delivery Driver

Class 2 Drivers Required – Swindon

The Best Connection Swindon are currently recruiting for a Class 2 HGV Driver on behalf of our client based in Swindon

This is a highly active, multi-drop role that goes far beyond standard "wheel-turning." You will be responsible for navigating regional delivery routes and physically delivering heavy brewery stock directly into traditional pub cellars.

Key Responsibilities

• Multi-Drop Deliveries: Safely driving an HGV Class 2 rigid vehicle on planned regional routes across the South of England.
• Manual Handling: Loading and unloading heavy beer casks (up to 52kg+), kegs, crates, and spirits.
• Cellar Logistics: Manually maneuvering stock into pubs, navigating restricted spaces, and ensuring correct stock rotation (FIFO) in customer cellars.
• Compliance & Safety: Conducting mandatory daily vehicle walk-around checks and strictly adhering to EU Drivers’ Hours and Working Time Regulations.

Hours & Pay:

• Monday to Friday, starting at 6 am
• £16.00 per hour PAYE
• 40 hours per week
• Ad hoc shifts

What We Are Looking For

• Qualifications: A valid UK HGV Class 2 (Category C) Driving Licence, Driver CPC qualification, and a Digital Tachograph Card.
• Physical Fitness: The role is physically demanding and involves heavy lifting, bending, and manual handling daily.
• Experience: Previous multi-drop or dray/brewery delivery experience is highly advantageous, though not essential.
• Attributes: A positive attitude, a reliable work ethic, and excellent customer-facing communication skills.
