Biospecimen Management Specialist

W2 Contract

Pay Rate: $40 - $50 per hour

Location: Redwood City, CA - Hybrid Role

Job Summary:

Playing a critical role as a Biospecimen Management Specialist within the Translational Medicine function, the position will provide sample management support in developing the scope of work for query resolution and sample management, and maintaining effective working relationships with cross-functional teams for clinical trials.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in sample tracking for clinical trials.
  • Provide sample management support for clinical trials.
  • Provide daily operational support for sample shipment while ensuring the end-to-end chain of custody.
  • Work independently on completing all sample-related tasks for the timely delivery of results.
  • Work in close collaboration with Translation Medicine Biospecimen Operations Leads and the Clinical Operations team.
  • Provide a biomarker sample management plan to key stakeholders.
  • Perform day-to-day operational management of CROs to ensure timely delivery with a high standard of quality.
  • Perform sample query resolution and sample management in a timely manner
  • Assist in sample reconciliation between clinical sites and central labs.
  • Provide sample and assay status updates to cross-functional teams.
  • Manage documentation and tracking of samples in the Company's systems.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Life sciences degree (BS or MS) in a scientific, medical, healthcare, or related discipline.
  • 2+ years of related professional experience in a clinical research setting, clinical/diagnostic laboratory.
  • A knowledge of the RAVE Electronic Data Capture System is highly desirable.
  • Excellent scientific and business communication skills, strong interpersonal/collaboration skills, and planning skills.
  • Ability to think critically and creatively, and be able to work independently to determine appropriate resources for the resolution of problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint applications.
  • Experience in using Project Management tools is desirable.
  • Prior experience in clinical biomarker operation and/or sample management in phase three clinical trials is highly desirable.
