Approved Electrician - MOD Sites
 
Location: Peterborough - Regional / Mobile
Salary: £41,605 - £45,000 PAYE + 25 days' holiday
Employment: Permanent
Working Pattern: 40 hours per week 
Clearance: MOD clearance supported by the client
 
The Role
 
We are recruiting for an experienced Approved Electrician to join a specialist team supporting electrical works and maintenance across a portfolio of MOD sites throughout the UK.
 
This is a genuinely different opportunity for an electrician looking for a stable role with a good work-life balance, plenty of downtime and a varied working week.
 
The role is primarily focused on electrical testing, subcontractor management and site support, rather than continuous installation work. You will travel to allocated MOD sites, coordinate and escort subcontractors, complete electrical testing and inspection works, and manage the associated paperwork and reporting.
 
The workload varies from week to week, and there will be periods where there is limited tasking. During quieter periods, time can be used for training and development.
 
Typical Working Week

• Monday: Travel to site during working hours.
• Tuesday: Meet and coordinate subcontractors on site, typically from 8am, and complete required tasking.
• Tuesday afternoon: Travel home, although this may extend into Wednesday depending on distance and workload.
• Thursday & Friday: Complete paperwork, reporting and administration.
• Not every week will have significant site tasking, providing a good level of flexibility and downtime.
• Carry out electrical inspection and testing across MOD sites.
• Complete EICRs, PAT testing and LPS testing.
• Escort and coordinate subcontractors working on site.
• Meet subcontractors, provide site access and ensure works are completed as required.
• Support the delivery of small electrical installation projects when required.
• Complete project paperwork, reports and relevant documentation.
• Ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with required standards.
• Work independently across multiple geographical locations.
• Maintain professional relationships with the client, subcontractors and site personnel.
• Support the wider team with additional electrical works when required.

Requirements

• Qualified / experienced Approved Electrician.
• Strong electrical testing and inspection experience.
• Experience completing EICRs and PAT testing.
• Comfortable working independently and travelling to different sites.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Able to coordinate and escort subcontractors effectively.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work across a regional portfolio of MOD sites.

MOD clearance is not required to apply. The necessary approval currently sits with the client, and they will support the successful candidate through the process of obtaining their own MOD clearance.
