Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Marine Quantity Surveyor to join a major £30m infrastructure project based in Suffolk. This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering hybrid working, international exposure, and the chance to work on technically complex marine and civil engineering works.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and overseeing commercial aspects of marine construction works
- Forecasting and cost reporting on behalf of the main contractor
- Administering contracts under NEC3 Option C
- Supporting project delivery across marine works, including microtunnelling and drilling operations
- Monitoring project costs, variations, and financial performance
- Liaising with project stakeholders to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
Project Details
- £30 million project scope
- Marine works including microtunnelling and drilling
- Based in Suffolk with hybrid working arrangements
- Travel to the Netherlands required approximately twice per month
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within marine, civil engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 Option C contracts
- Experience in cost forecasting and commercial reporting for main contractors
- Exposure to marine works, tunnelling, or drilling is highly advantageous
- Ability to travel internationally as required
