Project Manager - HV Substations
 
Location: Blantyre, Scotland
Contract Type: Contract | Outside IR35
Rate: £600-£675 per day
 
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to oversee a major HV Substation project based in Blantyre, Scotland.
 
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established client with a strong pipeline of work across the energy, utilities and renewable infrastructure sectors.
 
The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for the delivery of HV substation works, managing the project from mobilisation through to completion and ensuring all works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of the delivery of HV substation projects
• Manage projects through the full lifecycle, from mobilisation through to completion and handover
• Oversee civil, electrical and associated HV infrastructure works
• Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders
• Manage project programmes, budgets, resources and deliverables
• Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with HSEQ requirements and client specifications
• Liaise closely with the client, engineering teams, suppliers and internal delivery teams
• Monitor project progress and provide regular commercial and programme updates
• Identify and manage project risks, issues and changes
• Ensure project documentation, quality requirements and reporting are maintained
• Support planning, procurement and coordination of project resources
• Drive projects through to successful completion, commissioning and handover

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within HV substations, utilities, power or energy infrastructure
• Essential: Previous experience delivering HV substation projects
• Essential: Experience working on HV systems at 132kV and above
• Strong understanding of substation construction and associated electrical infrastructure
• Experience managing multidisciplinary projects incorporating civil and electrical works
• Strong programme, commercial and stakeholder management experience
• Experience managing subcontractors and site-based delivery teams
• Good understanding of HSEQ requirements within HV and energy infrastructure
• SMSTS certification is essential
• Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills
• Ability to manage projects from initial mobilisation through to completion and handover
