The Opportunity

A growing specialist water treatment and water hygiene business is looking for an experienced Water Treatment Engineer to join its expanding team across the South East.

This is a genuinely hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys servicing equipment, solving problems and getting systems working properly.

We're particularly interested in engineers with experience working on commercial water softeners and water treatment plant, although experience across every system isn't essential.

If you're technically strong, good at fault finding and take pride in the quality of your work, we'd like to hear from you.

The Role

You'll be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair, installation and commissioning of commercial water treatment systems across customer sites.

Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Routine servicing and preventative maintenance of water treatment plant.
  • Servicing and maintaining commercial water softeners.
  • Working on UV treatment systems, dosing equipment, RO and filtration systems.
  • Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective fault finding.
  • Completing repairs and replacing components where required.
  • Installation of new water treatment equipment.
  • Commissioning and testing systems following installation or repair.
  • Carrying out reactive breakdown and maintenance visits.
  • Inspecting pumps, valves, filters and associated equipment.
  • Identifying issues and recommending practical solutions.
  • Completing service reports and maintenance documentation.
  • Liaising directly with customers and site representatives.
  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for an engineer who is practical, technically capable and takes pride in doing the job properly.

You'll ideally have

  • Previous experience working with commercial water treatment equipment.
  • Experience with commercial water softeners would be particularly advantageous.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic ability.
  • Experience in servicing, maintenance or installation engineering.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • A professional and customer-focused approach.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Experience in any of the following would be beneficial

  • Water softeners
  • Reverse Osmosis (RO)
  • UV systems
  • Chemical dosing systems
  • Filtration
  • Pumps and valves
  • Commercial water systems
  • Water hygiene
  • Legionella
  • TMVs
  • Calorifiers
  • Hot and cold water systems

You don't need experience across everything above. We're interested in good engineers with the right practical background and attitude, and there is scope for further training and development.

 Why Join

This is a business that values quality workmanship, technical ability and long-term customer relationships.

The focus isn't on rushing engineers through as many jobs as possible. It's about doing the job properly, providing the right solution and leaving the customer confident in the work completed.

You'll receive

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Company vehicle.
  • Overtime opportunities.
  • Ongoing technical training and development.
  • Supportive management.
  • A varied workload across commercial customer sites.
  • Real opportunity for progression as the business continues to grow.

The Person

We're looking for someone who can arrive on site, understand the equipment, diagnose the problem and find the right solution.

You might already be a Water Treatment Engineer, or you could come from a broader service, mechanical, plumbing or water hygiene engineering background.

What matters most is that you're hands-on, reliable, technically minded and take pride in your work.
If you're looking for a role where you're valued for your engineering ability rather than treated like a number, we'd like to hear from you.

Must be UK-based with the right to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence.
