Senior HRIS Analyst

W2 Contract

Pay Rate: $70 - $75 per hour

Location: Redwood City, CA - Remote Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly analytical and proactive Senior HRIS Analyst with deep Workday expertise to shape and scale our HR technology ecosystem. In this role, you will move beyond day-to-day system support to play a strategic part in translating business needs into well-designed Workday solutions that enable growth, efficiency, and exceptional employee experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Workday HCM subject matter expert, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing business processes, calculated fields, and module functionality.
  • Lead and support system enhancements, releases, and new feature implementations in partnership with People Technology Leads.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for automation and improve efficiency by analyzing current-state processes and future business needs.
  • Stay current on Workday releases and best practices and recommend relevant improvements.
  • Maintain data accuracy and integrity through audits, validation, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Build and maintain Workday reports and dashboards.
  • Support compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations, including SOX and GDPR, and assist with audits as needed.
  • Lead and support Workday initiatives, including module implementations, business process redesigns, and global rollouts.
  • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business needs into scalable system solutions.
  • Manage key implementation activities, including requirements, design, testing, deployment, and post-launch support.
  • Collaborate across teams to anticipate evolving business needs and continuously improve HCM solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex Workday issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Support employee lifecycle processes, mass data updates, system testing, and scheduled maintenance.
  • Maintain system documentation, process guides, and support procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on Workday experience in configuration, administration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of HR processes and experience configuring Workday HCM, Compensation, Talent & Performance, and Security.
  • Experience supporting or leading Workday implementations, enhancements, or other significant system changes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Knowledge of HR data privacy, security, and compliance requirements, including SOX and GDPR.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related field.
  • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Experience supporting a global workforce.
  • Strong experience with Workday reporting, including creating and maintaining standard and ad hoc reports.
