QC Analytical Chemist

W2 Contract to Hire

Salary Range: $81,100 - $101,900 per year

Location: San Carlos, CA - Hybrid Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented QC Analytical Chemist with a strong chemistry background and 4–5 years of GMP pharmaceutical experience. This individual will perform routine and advanced analytical testing of GMP drug intermediates, contribute to method development and refinement, maintain lab equipment, and ensure compliance with SOPs and GMP/GLP practices. The role primarily involves HPLC operation, with opportunities to support assay development and R&D efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare samples and solutions for HPLC and other analytical assays.
• Operate HPLC (Waters systems/Empower software preferred), LCMS, DSC, Karl Fischer, rheometer, and common lab instruments.
• Analyze results with basic statistical metrics and maintain data integrity.
• Assist with method development, optimization, and validation.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and test methods accurately.
• Maintain and troubleshoot HPLC and other lab equipment.
• Clean glassware and maintain a safe, compliant lab environment.
• Manage hazardous waste and maintain analytical supplies.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• BS in Analytical Chemistry or related field (required).
• 4–5 years in GMP pharmaceutical QC, HPLC experience required; LCMS a plus.
• Detail-oriented, organized, problem-solving, teamwork, and time management.
• Microsoft Office, Waters Empower HPLC Software.
• HPLC, LC-MS, spectrophotometer, pH meter, osmometer, Karl Fischer, DSC, densitometer, rheometer.
