This position supervisesall daily operations of the Commercial Administration department.  Duties include working with log and copyadministrators to verify all information on logs and ensuring they aredelivered to Operations by the expected deadline.  The Cable Traffic Supervisor willalso work with other departments as needed to facilitate the production oflogs.

Responsibilities
  • Works with manager onall hiring, training, and evaluation of Commercial Administration staff for department
  • Approves timesheets,reviews staff time off requests
  • Works as a liaison withvarious departments (Sales, Sales Coordination, Pricing/Planning, Programming,Operations, On-Air Promo) to deal with issues/concerns regarding commercial placementand production of logs
  • Provides dailysupervision of Commercial Administration staff and oversees all processesnecessary to complete logs and reports for Sales and other groups withinestablished time parameters
  • Evaluates and re-assignsstaff workloads as needed
  • Checks logs foraccuracy once complete before delivering to Operations and checks missing copyreports prior to sending to Sales and posts logs
  • Works with manager ondevelopment, implementation, review and enforcement of written department procedures
  • Any other long-termdepartmental and special projects as required
  • Helps in coordinatingstaffing backup for other department position
  • Helps with other staffing support as requestedby Head of Department

 

  • A minimum of 2 years television or cable TV Commercial Administration (Traffic) experience, knowledge of all aspects of logs, formats, program schedules, copy, reconciliation, media management
  • Understanding of cable or technical operations a plus
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) a must
  • Must be able to communicate precise information clearly and accurately
  • Must be able to use calculator and timing calculator
  • Experience with Windows-based software and database programs needed
  • Microsoft Excel experience a plus
  • Traffic system experience necessary
  • Ability to multi-task and reprioritize workload at a moment’s notice, ability to coordinate group efforts to complete tasks within deadlines
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage large volume of work is necessary
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor even while under pressure
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to continue to strengthen existing skills and learn new ones
  • Must have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and follow-through, and the ability to work effectively as a member of a team and support Manager and department objectives as required
