Welder Fabricator

Location: Newark NG22

Pay: Up to £16 per hour (dependent on experience)

Hours: Days: 07: 00 – 16.00 Monday – Friday

Contract: Temp to Perm

We’re recruiting Welder Fabricators to join a busy, established infrastructure steelwork manufacturer supporting major road and rail projects. This is a workshop-based role working on heavy-gauge mild steel components (no site work).

If you enjoy producing high-quality welds on substantial structural work and want steady hours with plenty of overtime, this could be a great fit.

The Role

You’ll be MIG welding or fabricating structural steel components for major infrastructure builds and refurb projects (e.g., gantries/bridge steelwork and heavy plate/tubular assemblies).

Day-to-day duties:

• MIG welding / Fabricating mild steel structural components

• Working from engineering/technical drawings

• Producing quality welds to spec and checking your work

• Maintaining safe working practices in a workshop environment

Materials/Thickness: mild steel, typically 10–100mm (can be thicker depending on the job, up to ~200mm).

Overtime:

• Site operating hours: 06:00–18:00

• Time and a half after 40 hours

• Ample overtime available, including Fridays (optional)

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

• Proven experience in structural steel MIG welding

• Confident reading and working from technical drawings

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Interview Process (Must Pass Weld Test)

You will be invited for a face-to-face interview and a weld test. The weld test will include the below – must be able to pass these:

• Overhead & Vertical Flux

• T Fillet Multirun & Vertical Down

• 15mm Flux Vertical

• Butt Weld Vertical
