Welder Fabricator (MIG/TIG)
Location: Derby
Pay: Up to £36,192 per annum
Working Hours: 42 hours per week | OT paid at time-and-a-half (after 39 hours)

Our client is expanding due to increased workload and is looking for experienced Welder Fabricators (MIG/TIG) to support repair and fabrication work across the rail sector. This is a hands-on role working on a variety of railway components, including repairing and reworking crashed/damaged train parts.
The role
You’ll be working in a busy fabrication environment where quality and safety matter. Typical work will include:
· MIG and TIG welding on rail components and assemblies
· Fabricating from scratch from drawings/spec or job requirements
· Working with steel and aluminium
· Positional welding (a key requirement – please ensure you’re confident with this)
· Working across a range of material thicknesses, typically 1–12mm, with occasional work up to 50mm
Working away (occasional)
There may be some site work / working away, but it’s not frequent. When travel is required:
· Accommodation (“digs”) is paid
· £25 per night allowance
· Travel in a company van
What we’re looking for
Essential:
· Proven MIG and TIG welding experience
· Able to fabricate from scratch
· Confident with positional welding
· Comfortable working on both steel and aluminium
· Happy to do some site work
Hours & pay
· £15 - £16 per hour but with guarenteed overtime every week gives a salary of up to £36k per annum
· Monday to Friday: 07:30–16:30 |42 hours per week
· Overtime paid at time-and-a-half after 39 hours
