Embedded Engineer – Hardware & Firmware (Full-Time)
Location: Amsterdam | Start: December 

A fast-growing, product-driven tech company is looking for a hands-on Embedded Engineer to take ownership of the next generation of their hardware platform. You’ll be responsible for designing PCBs, writing firmware, and scaling prototypes into robust, field-ready solutions.

You’ll join a small, execution-focused team and work closely with the CTO and other embedded engineers. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and deeply technical — ideal for someone who thrives on building real-world products from the ground up.

Who You Are

• You’ve built multiple embedded products from scratch — we care more about what you’ve built than how long you’ve been doing it.
• Strong in C/C++, low-power firmware development, and real-world debugging.
• Experienced in schematic design, PCB layout, and hardware prototyping.
• Comfortable with IoT protocols, remote deployments, and connectivity challenges.
• Experience with fleet/device management is a strong plus.
• Curious, self-driven, and excited by the challenges of building physical products.

What You’ll Work On

• Selecting and integrating microcontrollers (MCUs).
• Designing and testing custom PCBs to integrate new components.
• Enabling global connectivity (e.g., deployments in Brazil, Indonesia).
• Implementing over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
• Transitioning from per-device 4G to localized mesh networks per deployment site.
• Optimizing for low power consumption in remote environments.
